DNA research with the male Y-chromosome has just proven that this Michael Borders, died in 1849 Rutherford County NC, was a s/o Michael Bader/Borders 1751 GER & Mary Hopton 175X, d/o John Hopton who died in 1796 Greene County TN. This also means that this Michael Borders was born in TN rather than in SC. His brothers were Issac Borders 1776 TN, John Borders 1779 TN, and Stephen Borders 1784 TN. See www.familytreedna.com.
