The reason you are finding so many John Brown listing in the census is there were 3 separate Brown families living in the area at the time. The Paintsville Set, the Tom's Creek and the George's Creek set occupied the region with different roots coming into the region. Probably the same father somewhere in the past.


Presently, I live in South Florida but will check here for the book. In a few weeks, I will be in the Kentucky area and I'll check it out for you there as well. I am trying to go back to Eastern Kentucky later this month, if so I check out things for my new cousins.
