On the Johnson County Query Forum, a contributor has indicated that she John was with Cornwallis. She has the info about the regiment and company. I've been unable to contact her - email address doesn't seem to work for me. David Daniel, another researcher, indicated that within his family lore was the story of John leaving the British army when he wasn't paid and went on to fight for the other side. I read somewhere else that John served under Tarleton and Cornwallis. BTW, who is Michael? Are you referring to Michael, s/o John/Catherine Borders?
