Harriet BOOTS in Iowa (born in New York)

I am looking for help on information about my ggrandfather and his ancestors. Lester VANAMBERG was born about 1872-1874 in Jones, Marion or Cherokee county of Iowa. Lester married Lucinda GADMER in 1899 in Cherokee. Lucinda was born in 1876 in Jones county and is buried in Silver Creek, Cherokee county (I believe).
Lester's parents were Benjamin (Lester listed him as Albert) VANBURG and Harriet BOOTS. Benjamin was buried 1895 in Cass cemetery, Marion county (I believe). I have no death date or death place for Harriet. Benjamin and Harriet had four other children: William buried 1903 in Washta, Cherokee county; John buried 1942, Quimby, Cherokee county; Anna who married Robert HOON buried 1932 in Sunset View cemetery, Washta; George, death date or place and Lester, no death date or place, just that he disappeared in 1907-1909.
Lester and Lucinda lived in Cherokee. Is there any where to find out if a divorce or separation was ever filed? Did they do that when people disappeared in the early 1900s?
Any information or direction on how to find the information on Lester, Benjamin (Albert), Harriet, William, John, Anna or George would be greatly appreciated.
