Linda, my mother is a BOOTS and the family comes from East Sussex. I do not have in my database the specific names you listed, but hopefully we can make a connection. My family line came to America around 1830. Three brothers, John (my line)(b. June 17, 1810 in Staplecross), Edmond Ambrose (b. Oct. 12, 1811 in Staplecross), and Samuel (b. May 25, 1816 in Staplecross) were the sons of Edmond Ambrose BOOTS (b. Feb. 2, 1770 in Rye) and Elizabeth BULL (b. Feb. 17, 1770 in Sussex County). Edmond Sr. was baptized in St. Mary's Church in Rye. They were married in Staplecross on Nov. 25, 1809. Edmond Sr. parents were James BOOTS of Bodiam (b. 1724) and Mary RANGER of Northiam. The brothers were all baptized in St. John the Baptist Church in Ewhurst. They (as were their mother) were followers of Wesley and started one of the first Methodist Episcopal churches in Western Pennsylvania. Two of the brothers were pastors. Saleshurst shows up several times in my database. Just quickly looking at my info, I have Barthomolew BOOTS (b. April 25, 1736 in Bodiam) and wife Mary WOOD (b. August 7, 1735 in Burwash) who had 7 children, all born in Salehurst. He was the brother of my James listed above. His line stayed in the UK and some went to Australia. My research goes back to Richard BOOTS from Etchingham, born in 1585. I have spoken to BOOTS' all over the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand (and UK). There are a couple of good web sites on the family, one that my Family Tree Maker site is attached to is run by Ed Boots. I'd love to hear from you and find a connection. Stay in touch.
