Was your Harriet BOOTS from upstate New York?
If so, I may be able to point you in the right direction. My Boots ancestors came from Sussex County, England to Western Pennsylvania in 1830. One of the immigrant's cousins settled in upstate New York - I don't know much about them, and have had fleeting contact with a descendant in Syracuse.
