The Boothroyd/Hawkyard marriage is in the transcripts of the PRs published by the HDFDS. http://www.hdfhs.org.uk/publications/society/parishsales/parish.htm According to the same source Jabuz' bride was Lydia FIRTH, not BOOTHROYD. I see that the IGI source is the BT. Discrepancies between PR & BT aren't unknown. The Yorkshire Archaeological Society published several volumes of a critical edition the early Almondbury registers. The entries were checked against the BTs, partly because there were gaps in the preservation of the PRs which could be filled in from the BTs but there were a number of instances given where the names were different. Whilst it's problematic (to say the least!) about assigning any particular baptism to any particular family it seems very likely that some of the early baptisms would belong to this family. You also mentioned Mary Ann's baptism being in the BT but not the PR. HDFDS PR transcript includes her birth and baptism - or maybe they used the BTs as an additional source. BTW are you aware of the survival of the 1811 census for Honley? It's not very informative but is transcribed in a number of places including http://www.honley.ukf.net/census.htm Ian Notify Administrator about this message?
