I am just starting my family tree and my grandfather was born Dewey Lee Booth. His parents names, as I've been told were Robert Booth and Norma Huggins. They both died when he was a little boy and he was then adopted by his Aunt and Uncle, Susan Huggins (his mother's sister) and Frances West. His name was changed to Dewey L. West and they moved to the Seattle area. I know that he had two brothers, Robert and Edward, but they have passed and we have no records from that side of the family.
My grandmother thinks that he was born in Kansas City (or near to) but wasn't sure if it was Kansas City, Kansas or Kansas City Missouri.
Any help would be wonderful.
