Larry,
Thank you for your reply. You have mentioned a lot of people of whom I have no information, nor, at this time, any reason to research, but it's always interesting to read about possible connections!

Ward Hill Lamon was definitely related to my Lemon line. DNA testing has proven the connection. Legend has it that Hill (as he was called) changed the spelling from Lemon to Lamon "because that's the way it used to be spelled and how it's pronounced." Ann Ward Lamon Morgan, wife of William Morgan, was Hill's sister. Hill married first to Angeline Turner, and second to Sally Logan.

Ann, Hill, & Dolly (Hill's only surviving child) are buried in the cemetery next to the Gerrardstown Presbyterian Church in Gerrardstown, WV, not Inwood. The two towns are several miles apart. I was there just this past October.

Ward Hill's grandfather was married in Tuscarora Presbyterian Church in Martinsburg, just three years before, and by the same preacher, as my 5XGreat-grandfather, Robert Lemon, who married Mary McKown. Mary grew up just outside Gerrardstown in a home called "Marshy Dell." It is still standing and in the McKown family.

The Lamon/Lemon families are closely related by blood & marriages to the McKown and Morgan families of Berkeley County, WV, among others.

It is the possible connection to the Webb family by the marriage of this Thomas Lemmons to Hannah Webb that I was seeking information about, but with the reply received earlier, I think I can rule out this Thomas Lemmons as being the Thomas Lemmon, brother of my Robert, that I am researching. I am open to finding out that I'm wrong, of course, but as of now the one son of Thomas & Hannah that I've found does not match any of the names of the sons of my Thomas that are currently known.

Thank you again,
Cindi
