He was probably born in Hunterdon Cty, NJ. The probable grandson of Thomas maud Morgan and that family was orig frm Newport, Conn but the entire family was of the Basselleg, Wales line. DAniel married Abigail Bailey, issue was Nancy. Nancy, married Brevet-Col. Presley Neville, VA Continental Infantry, aide-de-camp to gen Lafayette and afterwards same to gen. Lincoln. Issue Emily Neville 2/15/1786. Emily married William Douglass Simms. Issue Virginia Neville Simms, 2/17/1812 who married Frank Taylor and their issue Daniel Morgan taylor, cpt Ordnance Dept USA.
