I am working on another project that the Myers family of Ft Myers in Lee County Florida was also related to Daniel Boone in some way. The Myers family of Ft Myers are really the Myers, Gratz and Gist family of Christopher Gist. Christopher Gist along with Dr Thomas Walker were the first explorers of Kentucky. Records are clear this family was also related to President Martin Van Buren who was for a time, Andrew Jackson's Vice President.

My question to Daniel Boone experts is where was Daniel Boone when this was going on? My first question to you is Jackson County was named after what person?

If it's President Andrew Jackson, maybe we could help each other.
