barbara, thanks for the response,my DNA test is on male DNA,my line of james brown born 1792 johnston n.c.,and i have one source that richard was his father but i cant prove that,on the boon DNA project there are four others that are listed as from a brother of thomas line that i am two alleles different so the test info explains as the gene mutates for the cousins i am matched to thomas line,probably occuring 1760 or earlier, thanks john brown
