I try to keep up a database of Maryland Days before 1800. My own family was from upper Montgomery County, and there's an unrelated big family of Days centered around the Gunpowder Falls area above Baltimore. It would be fun figuring out how this group ties in, if at all.
Day isn't as common as Smith, but it's a common enough name that there are a lot of apparently unrelated people with the name!
