Janelle, Thank you for your time and trouble. No, I don't question Edward Boone's marriage to Martha Bryan. I am, instead, puzzled by two references-by Jesse Enlow Peyton and by French Tipton, who interviewed 19th century witnesses--as to the union of one Edward Boone and Ellen Peyton who were part of the Boone group. Jesse may have confused two different Edward Boones. However, I don't know why French Tipton would have included an Edward Boone and his wife Ellen as members of the settlement, and no Edward Boone and Martha Bryan. All I can say for sure is that Ellen and her married sisters were members of the Boone group, and two of these three women have proven impossible to track after that point in time. Only their sister Mary Peyton, who married James Ellis (founder of Ellisville, KY) remains within view. Again, thanks for taking the time to answer my odd little query.
