William Albert Boone, born 25 April 1885, was listed in the WW I Draft Registration cards on 12 September 1917 at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. He gave his exact name and birth date and nearest relative, Sarah Jannetta Boone, who is his wife, Sarah J. Boggs, that he married 20 June 1908 in Hancock County, Indiana. The 1920 and 1930 Delaware County, Indiana censuses listed her name as Jennie Boone.
Boggs family records lists her as the daughter of John W. Boggs and wife Mary Jane Boggs born 10 July 1886 in Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana. Her name should be corrected to the name that William Albert Boone gave when he registered for the draft. He would know the correct name of his wife. The John W. Boggs family was listed next to the William T. Boone family in the 1910 Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana census; however, I could not find William Albert Boone in the 1910 census. He was listed in the 1920 Delaware County, Indiana census as follows:
William A. Boone 35 IN
Jennie Boone 35 IN
James Boone 10 IN
Mary Albert [Alberta] 6 IN
The 1930 Delaware County, Indiana census taken for Liberty Twp., Delaware County, Indiana listed family as follows:
William A. Boone 44 IN
Jennie Boone 45 IN
James J. Boone 21 IN
Mary A. Boone 17 IN
James Boone is listed in the SSN files as born 13 April 1909 and died 24 August 1964. I incorrectly listed his birth date as 13 April 1912 on page 144 of the Edward Boone book which is obviously not right. I don't know the original source of the date.
I copied the above items for you and will inclose them with a copy of the Edward Boone book which you have ordered from me. It will provide you with all the other information you need on your lineage.
