I am a gr gr granddaughter of Squire & Phebe Rissler Boone. Yes, it is Phebe, no "o." They migrated from IN to Boone Co., IA in 1852 where I was born. They are buried in Squire Boone Cem. in Worth Twp. there. Squire was a sister of Susan (Susannah) and they were children of Moses, who was a son of Squire Jr., son of Squire Sr., etc. Phebe was a sister of William Rissler. They were children of John & Catharine. John died in VA and left Catharine with 10 children, oldest being George who was 19. When George & others married and moved away, Catharine moved to Putnam Co., IN where she died. Her gravestone is near Moses Boone & others of the Boone family. Catharine may have been a Boone, since one write-up said that, but I haven't found who her parents could be. Her gravestone in the Boone-Hutcheson cem. near Manhattan, IN spells her name with an "a," not an "e."
William & Susan's son, Lewis Rissler, also moved to Boone Co., IA probably with the Squire Boone family. Lewis, wife and children are buried in the Fairview Cem., a mile north of Madrid.
I have much information on the Rissler/Boone history, etc. and would be happy to share via snail mail. Answer via my e-mail address since I don't check the Forum on a daily basis.
