I have been able to contact a German Bohn family member here in Germany. His name is Gernot Bohn. He is a member of the same family as Johann Diel BOHNE, but his family remained in Germany. Haven't got the exact relationship figured out yete.
He lives about 50 miles from where I am at and plan to meet in May. Would like to meet sooner, but could not coordinate calendars. He has more information on the family. He indicated that the the family lived in Nassbaum before coming to America. That is close to Obermoschel, which is where Nellie Whedon Woods identified as the ancestral home of the family.
Now one further question. Nellie Whedon Woods wrote that Johann made a trip back to Germany in 1761 and made his will before returning to Germany. I have a copy of his will, but does anyone know any documentation about the return trip to Germany?
