Looking for information on the family of Elizabeth Boone, b. June 1841 Yancey Co., NC. Elizabeth m. Robert Gentry 25 Mar 1859 in Madison Co., NC. They had at least eight children, one of which the Census of 1900 Madison Co, says was adopted. Her name was Dora Gentry b. 1882 NC. Looking to find out who Dora's real parents were. Dora would be my husbands gg-grandmother. I don't know if Gentry was her original name, or if she took the name Gentry after the adoption. Any help would be appreciated.
