I am afraid I must have misled someone on the Boone,,Brumettconnection. . This is what I was told..The Boones and Brumetts lived on the Yadkin River in Rowan co NC..this passed down as a bogey story to scare the children with..written as it was told..Ol' Lady Brummet was ill and knew she was going to die..Told her family not to bury her on the other side of the river or she would come back and haunt them..well,she died and they buried her across the river..getting ahead of my story ...she use to sit in a rocking chair and rock with a "muskeeter bar" wrapped around her shoulders...after her death, a family moved into the cabin, the next morning , the wife awoke and there sat Ol Lady Brummet justa rocking...they left and shortly
after , another family moved in ....the same thing happened , and they left...the cabin was never lived in again ..when Ol' Lady Brummet died, she left to her daughter some needles in horsehair balls, hidden in the mattress...end of story..what I meant to imply when I wrote the first posting, was that I knew thru that tale that the Brummets were also on the Yadkin with the Boones..In searching to document my Boones on the Yadkin , I found the Brummets there ..Hope this was interesting , sorry if I led you astray...Pat
