Jesse is the son of Israel Boone. Israel Boone was brother to Daniel. Israel and his wife died young, Jesse and his brother Jonathan were raised by Daniel & Rebecca. Descendants of Jonathan referred to Daniel as "Grandfather" for several generations causing a great deal of confusion for researchers.
