DAVID CHESNUTT, JR, born c1795 and died 9-17-1845 in Sampson Co, NC., S/of David Chesnutt Jr., and Sarah Hollingsworth; married Mary Ezzell D/of Reuben Ezzell and Sarah Rackley; Mary born c1798, died between 1870 and 1879. After David's death she married James Vann S/of John Vann and Sarah Shepard. Children of David and Mary are Joshua James bborn 1825, died 2-21-1857; Sarah (Sallie); Dorothy Jane aka Dolly; Mary Ann aka Polly; and Catherine E. Chesnutt a/k/a Kitty Eliza. NFI
JACOB CHESNUTT SR born c1760 in Sampson Co and died after 1825, S/of Charles Chesnutt and Julia Ann Driver; Jacob md Nancy Vann born between 1770-1780. Their children were Elizabeth who died c1815 in Sampson; Malcey; Sarah; Jacob Jr; Charles K. Sr; Jessie; Wealthy; Duncan; Kencheon; Joseph Marley; Bailey; Allen; Margaret; Dotey - all born in Sampson Co. NFI

Joshua's 2nd wife was Sarah, and their children were: Arthur born 1770 in Duplin, died 1830-1840 in Bladen Co, NC; Joshua III born c1775; died 7-17-1846 in Turkey; md Nancy Ann Bass; Sarah Mary born c1775 in Duplin Co, died 1860-1870, md Shadrack Rackley; Martha born after 1775 in Duplin md James Tyler; Edith Ann born prior to 1775 in Duplin md Dugal Duncan; Betsy born 1780 in Duplin md John Porter; and Mary/Polly Chesnutt born 1783 in Sampson, died 1850-1860 md Frederick Rackley. THOMAS JEFFERSON CHESNUTT S/of Lemuel Chesnutt and Mary Jane Bass; born Nov 1802, died March 1865, 1st md c1830 to Anna Maria Royal D/of Isham Royal and Elizabeth Whitney; born c1805; died April 1832, 2 children, Mary Elizabeth and Caroline Royal Chesnutt. NFI
Thomas' 2nd wife was Letitia Owen D/of Owen Owen and Martha Spell. They md c1836.Letitia was born c1806 and died c1849. Their children were: Martha Ann; Eliza Jane; Owen Lemuel and Junius Haywood Chesnutt. NFI
Thomas' 3rd wife was Margaretta McKoy (md in 1849 or 50). She was born 8-26-1817 in Iredelle Co, NC., and died 11-15-1884 in Clinton, NC. Their children were marg. Christine aka Crissie; Georgiana Alice McKoy aka Coy; and Lenora Jane a/k/a Jennie Chesnutt. NFI

After Polly died, Joshua married c1770 to Sarah and had 7 children: Arthur; Joshua III; Sarah Mary; Martha; Edith Ann; Betsy; and Mary/Polly. NFI
