Daniel Boone m Rebecca Bryan; Edward Boone m Martha Bryan; Mary Boone m William Bryan
Brothers & sister married brother & sisters which made a strong Boone/Bryan relationship.
Parents of these Bryan children were Morgan & Martha Strode Bryan. Morgan was born in Denmark, later lived in Ireland and then came to America; settled in PA where he m Martha Strode. Her parents were from Holland & had moved to France until religious persecution made them decide to leave for PA. They died at sea, leaving 3 children: Jeremiah, Samuel & Martha Strode.
Morgan & Martha Strode Bryan's children were: Joseph, Elenor, Mary, Samuel, Morgan, John, William, James & Thomas Bryan.
Mary & William Bryan lived in Rowan Co., NC. Their children were: Samuel, Daniel, William Jr., Phoebe, Hannah, John, Sarah, Elizabeth, Abner & Mary.
Mary's husband & son, William & William Jr. were out hunting for meat and were killed
by Indians. After this, she returned to NC in time to receive a message from her brother Daniel so her remaining two sons left to help Daniel fight the French & Indians in the Battle of Blue Licks.
Mary's sister, Martha Bryan, married Daniel's brother Edward. In Oct 1780, Edward was killed by an Indian while he and Daniel were on their way home from boiling salt at the Blue Licks.
(OUR BOONE FAMILIES DANIEL BOONES KINFOLK by Sarah Ridge Street Rockenfield, 1987, Whipporwill publications, Evansville, IN has most birth & death dates of many Bryans.)
