Seeking information on any BOON families in Maury County TN during 1800-1825. My ancestor Joseph Boon and his sisters, Martha BOON CLEGG and Elizabeth BOON LAWS were from there. Joseph was b ca 1812, and moved to west GA in late 1820s or early 1830s. He married in Chambers County AL in 1836. Martha was born 1801, ? location, and married in 1816 Maury County TN to John P. Clegg. They moved to Arkansas. Elizabeth married Jesse Laws and moved to La Grange Georgia. Family oral tradition handed down from Joseph relates that Joseph's father was a second cousin to the pioneer Daniel Boone. Family tradition also says that after Joseph's mother died, his father remarried a "red haired Irish woman" with whom Joseph had differences, causing Joseph to leave at an early age to live with his sister Elizabeth in La Grange GA.
