Carolyn, please take a look at the 25 NOV 2000 posting on this site. If the posted data is correct,Squire Boone's daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy", was born 1732 and married William GRANT in 1750. He didn't die until 1804. This Betsy was Samuel's sister but, datewise a whole generation before your Samuel and Elizabeth search. Betsy's mother was Sarah (Morgan) Boone, wife of Squire and sister of my gggggg grandmother, Elizabeth (Morgan) Morris (she married Cadwallader Morris of New Britan twp. -- Betsy was possibly named after her Aunt Elizabeth (Morgan) Morris? The Boones, Morgans and Morrisses were in the same Towamencin area of Pennsylvania at one time during the early days of Penn's Commonwealth and lots of emigration from Wales via England in pursuit of religious freedom. But,it is recorded in PA history, the Boone's had several fallouts with the Quakers/Friends over certain issues and finally pulled up stakes and left for North Carolina. I believe you'll find them affiliated with Baptists there. I have no information on that Elizabeth's descendants but do understand that the Boone's spent a couple of years in the area of Winchester, VA before proceeding to the North Carolina area. Perhaps Samuel, brother of Daniel and Betsy, was the father of a son he named Samuel, Jr., the line you are tracing? Or, perhaps your "Samuel Boone, Jr." and his sister Elizabeth are descendants from one of Squire Boone, Sr.'s siblings -- meaning lots of offspring one generation up? George Boone, the grandfather of Daniel the frontiersman, had about eleven children. That means there are lots of other lineage line possibilities in the generation above Daniel and Samuel. Maybe you will find some records in Winchester, VA filed by one or various Boone relatives. If you do, please post so we can all benefit from your efforts!
