Yep ... 'ole Daniel was related BUT NOT BY BLOOD! By marriage ... Spraker's Book, "The Boone Family", pg 194:

Mildred (Milly) Boone married 1809 William Carson, older half-brother of the famous "Kit" Carson. Second marriage of William Carson was to Milly's sister, Cassandra.

Parents of Milly and Cassandra were William Linville Boone and Nancy Grubbs.
