Nathan's Mary C married Alfred Hosman and they are my gg-grandparents. La Vaughn Culp Mouser(July 06, 1998 follow up) mentiond a Nathan Boone Celebration. It is held the 3rd week-end in September every year. This year festivities start Friday evening and have entertainment. Saturday 10:00 a parade is held. There are booths set up in the Park selling wares, food, cold drinks, demonstrations, Horse shoe pitch contest - which my brother won one year. People bring folding chairs, to sit under shade trees and watch people and visit with relatives. They have genealogy information there available. There have been bus tours to Nathan Boone's home and the family cemetery near the house. The house is enclosed in sheet metal to preserve the wood until it can be refurbished. We could go inside also. This is strictly a guided tour and have to ride the bus to get into the grounds. This celebration is called Nathan Boone Rendezvou and held at the Ash Grove City Park, Ash Grove, MO. This will be the 15th Annual September 18 & 19, 1998. Go west out of Springfield,Hwy 160. .
