Patricia, the author lists no footnotes or endnotes. However, the Foreword states that the narratives "have been submitted to the person in interest, and their corrections have been carefully regarded."I would suspect that the "person in interest" is a living family member or a historian with expertise in a specific family. As you may know, Cuyler Reynolds was a highly respected historian and curator and authored many published works on family lineage. So I would suspect that his verification techniques were thorough.Unfotunately, he may have been forced to rely on non-historians (i.e., family members) for some information. The accuracy of that information likely varied from family to family. So he was only as good as his input.
