Hi Roger,
If I had proof to tie Shields Booker of Robertson County, VA with Shields Booker of Alabama, I would be very happy in deed. Now you said Hickman County, is that near Robertson County?
This is what I have:John Booker of Halifax Co., VA, left a Will naming, among others: John Eaton Booker, Pinkethman Booker, Martha and Shields Booker. Information, with no proof, says that John and Shields both died in Robertson Co., TN. I went to Robertson county and found a will for Shields, but nothing for John E.
In Shields' Will, he names no children of his own but, after the death of his wife, leaves most of his estate to the children of his late brother John and to .....
So, I believe that this is my John E. who married to Elizabeth Ford, but I can find nothing about either one of them.I then find Shield Booker, b. 1802 in VA, marrying Sarah Dewoody, born 1810 in TN, in LimestoneCo., AL.
I also find reference in the Dewoody book, that one of Shield and Sarah's sons is named William Wade, afterShields' uncle William Wade who was married to Martha Booker of Halifax Co., daughter of John and Susannah Booker.John of Halifax, VA was married first to Elizabeth Shields and married second to Susannah Pride.
Shields, who died in Robertson Co., TN, was also married to a Pride.Upon her death, her will named her Pride nieces and nephews.
If any of this helps, please let me know.
