John BOOK:DOB 10-3-1839 Germany,Came to the USA and lived in Iowa at an early age,joined the Union at the out break of the civil war, served from 1861 to 1865. Married 1865 or 67 and had a child John BOOK: DOB 1867. John Sr spent his adult life in Indiana. I can not find him in the rosters,He died in Indiana and is buried in Brownstown with his wife Wilhelimina"Minnie,Christina,Amina Mattis"as well as his son J.BOOK & his wife Effie Bell ATKINS/COOLEY & his son Earl BOOK & wife Freda BOOK/WRIGHT. There was siblings too...rumor has it their name was BOCK and two brothers left and when they returned the names was chg'd to BOOK. Earl & Freda were my g-parents...my mothers father & mother.Any connections? Dana.
