Using Y-DNA testing on living male descendants of the various Booher lines, we are learning a lot. The Sullivan County, TN Martin Booher line turns out to be related to the Fredericksburg, Lebanon Co. PA Bucher family, and NOT RELATED to the Booher lines descending from Bartholomew Bucher of Frederick MD and Peter Bucher/Booher of Fayette Co. PA. (although Peter and Bartholomew are related by DNA to each other.) Further, it appears possible that Bartholomew/Peter lines are related to the Bougher/Bugher/Bucher lines from Bucks & Northampton Co. PA . (We need to test another male from the latter line to know 100%.) Details and family trees are found at the Bucher / Booher Research Site at http://www.SiteServers.net/family/dna where any male Booher can take the DNA test to learn which of these lines he is related to.
