I am searching for the ancestry of Anne Bonney bc 1710 in Mass dau of John Bonney and Elizabeth Bishop. John Bonney was the son of Thomas Bonney Jr.
There has been a lot of discussion as to the mother of John Bonney. His father, Thomas Jr. married twice. His first wife was Dorcas Samson who was born about 1649. Most accounts state they were married about 1684, but it must have been much earlier. It is doubtful that Dorcas married as late as age 35. I would guess that if she was born 1649 she would have married at about age 18 to 25 years. Thus around years 1667-1674.
We have no actual dates for the birth, christening, marriage, or death of Dorcas Samson Bonney. If she married Thomas Bonney Jr. say in 1670, how many children did she have before she died? Does anyone really know what date she died? Sometime before 1693?
If Thomas remarried after the death of Dorcas, did he have any children by this 2nd marriage?
What age was Thomas Bonney in 1693? And what age was his 2nd wife? Seems that they both would be too old to be starting another family?
