I am also looking for information on that Richard Bonney. He is my G^3GF. I believe he and his wife were from the Camelford district of Cornwall, tho I can't confirm that yet. I have found the following entries at freebmd.rootsweb.com (Births, Jan-Mar 1848) BONEY Elizabeth Ann Camelford (Births, Jun-Sep 1849) BONNEY Thomas Camelford These match the names and times of his first two children. There should be a Sarah in Oct-Dec 1851, but that quarter is only about 2% transcribed, so she's more than likely just not entered yet. I'd also like to find an entry for Richard's marriage, but again the index is mostly not transcribed for the few years before 1848. The 1841 census for cornwall is available on line (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kayhin/ukocp.html). (The 1851 census is as well, but it is incomplete, and missing the most of Camelford.) There is a Richard BONEY on Treforda (farm), near Trevalga, who is the right age (it says 15, which is how 18 would have been entered because they rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5 (I don't know why)). This Richard is the youngest son of John BONEY, a yeoman -- our Richard was "said to be a younger son of a family with land". There is also an Elizabeth Ann HONEY at Trevilla (farm), Piece HO107/140 (St Juliot). She is a servant in the household of a Philip Jose. The only nearby family of HONEYs is at Lower Beeney. These are the only name-and-age matches for Richard and Elizabeth Ann in the Camelford district. I have not checked other districts in Cornwall (the census records are not indexed). I should also note that there is *another* Richard BONEY in Ontario in the same time frame (I have found both of them on the 1871, 1881 and 1901 census). He is married to a woman named Mary Ann, and they are both from England. He is also just three years younger than our Richard, which means that the Richard BONEY I found in Cornwall is a match for *him*, too :-(. I don't know of any children for this couple, so I can't use the same trick of looking for their birth records on FreeBMD. Do you have anything to add (or subtract) from that? Feel free to contact me by e-mail.... ...mark young Notify Administrator about this message?
