I've been researching James L. Bonney (1829-bef 1910), son of Prentiss F. Bonney by first wife Hannah Logan.
Evidently James left the Missouri Bonney's to work in the California gold mines sometime before the 1860 census as I find him in Vallecita, Calaveras CO, California in the 1860 census, occupation - miner. In 1870 he is listed in Copperopolis, Calaveras CO, CA married to Eliza Francis Harp. He and Eliza married on July 01, 1869 but listed with them in the 1870 census are two children Henry Milton Bonney b. March 20, 1861 and Florence Eliza Bonney b.April 1870.
Does anyone know who Henry Milton Bonney's mother was? It was not Eliza Francis Harp or she forgot about being his mother by the 1900 census. Was James L. Bonney married previously?
James L. Bonney is a collateral relationship as my connection is from Prentiss F. Bonney's second wife but inquiring minds want to know!
