MELISSA: dorcas samson/sampson was married to thomas jr. who was the son of of thomas the immigrant and his second wife mary hunt. after saying that i must say there has always been speculation that thomas jr. and one or two others were the children of thomas the immigrant and his first wife mary terry. there is also a train of thought out there that thomas jr. was the only child of thomas sr. and that we all descend from his children. this was DEFINITELY disproved by the mayflower soc. many years ago but you still see it from people who have copied and keep copying bad genealogies. we may never know for sure who the mother of thomas jr. was. i believe the mayflower soc. got involved in this one since dorcas' lineage goes back to the mayflower and they wanted to set the record straight. for me it isn't a problem since i descend down the bonney line to perez who married ruth snow and her line is proven back to several people on the mayflower, if that type of thing is important. happy hunting.
