I would be interested in all the information on Lewis Bonnett and his descendants.
Lewis Bonnett was a Revolutionary War soldier whose name appears on the Iowa Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (IASSAR) monument which appears south of the Iowa State Capitol building in Des Moines, Iowa.
Lewis was born about 1763 in the Cedar Creek area of Frederick County, Virginia. He was a private in Captain Jonathan Coburn's Company under Major Lowther and Colonel Joseph Crockett.
Lewis moved to Iowa in 1836 and died on 07 January 1850 in Union Township, Van Buren County, Iowa. His Revolutionary War pension was S5294.
The IASSAR is seeking all his descendants to the present.I can be contacted at:Michael K. Mulford, President IASSAR, [email protected] and I thank you for your assistance.
