Wow, TB, that's some sad information. I have 3 other ancestors who languished in British prisons. John Francis Rague was a Frenchman who came over with Lafayette. He served with the 10th (19 Aug 1778) and 1st (17 Jan 1781)Pa. as an Assistant Surgeon's Mate, I beleive with the rank of Lt.
He must have stayed with the wounded after some engagement and fallen into British hands.
Incidentally, my family was a bit confused about the spelling to. I've also have seen the name spelled as Rogue. Genealogy certainly is fascinating.
