I have found a Jonathan Bonnell, aged 24 (born ca. 1826 Ohio) as a farmer in the HH of George W. Bonnell, aged 38.
This could be an early begotten son, or a brother/cousin/etc. of George W. Bonnell. George W. Bonnell's wife was a Cavey A. Anderson, born 1814 in Belmont Co., Ohio. Cavey died about 1854 by online genealogies...but I find that one of her daughters, Sarah J. Bonnell, born in 1846, moved to Bartholomew Co., Indiana. I am not firm on this from memory, but perhaps Cavey Anderson Bonnell had another sibling who moved to Bartholomew Co., Indiana. Since you mention that an early migration of a Jonathan to Bartholomew Co., I thought this link might prove of interest to anyone. I can't find George W. later in the census, but he was a tobacco packer and born in Va. according to the 1850 census of Jolly Township, Washington Co., Ohio. This is the southeastern portion of Ohio-and Marietta on the Ohio River is in
Washington Co., Ohio also? I suspect George later married again (as his children in 1854 would have been 10, 9, 8, 7 and 5) and some indications that they lived in Monroe Co., Ohio for a time. Not proven by me.
