Here is some information I have on Anthony Bonnell, Sr. "Anthony Bonnell, Sr., a Revolutionary soldier was born April 3, 1740, in South Carolina and died April 25, 1809, in Screven County, Georgia. He married Mary Ann Mills in 1765. She was born in 1744 in South Carolina and died Jan. 22, 1832, in Screven County. Their children were: 1. Anthony Bonnell, Jr., born about 1770 and married (1) Elizabeth __, (2) Rebecca Mills. 2. Elizabeth Bonnell, born in 1772, married Archibald Mills. 3. William Bonnell, born about 1774, married Rebecca McGee. 4. Rebecca Bonnell, born about 1775, married Thomas F. Lovett. 5. Daniel Bonell, born about 1777. 6. Honor Bonnell, born about 1780, married Henry Bryant. Anthony Bonnell, Sr., served as a lieutentant in the Georgia line during the Revolution. Information in this sketch is from Ancestor Histories, published by Archibald Bulloch Chapter, Daughters of teh American Revolution, Statesboro, GA." Also from Page 74, Footprints on the Sand of Time, by Wm. Youmans, "Between 1765 and 1770 a group of settlers, from No. and So. Carolina settled and received land grants in the vicintiy of what is now Rocky Ford, Ga. Among the first settlers was Anthony Bonnell, Sr., who served as one of the commissioners appointed at the time Screven County was created. First county seat of Screven Co., Ga. was established at Rocky Ford, GA."
