the book by Clarence Breaux "The Ancestry of Certain Breaux, Broussard, Louviere, Barras, Bonin (etc)" shows Duc to be the son of Jean Baptiste Bonin and Clarisse Benoit. Jean Baptiste married again after the death of his first wife Anastasie Broussard. I have some limited notes but just today have ordered the book for my own study. I will let you know when it arrives. Judy
