Looking in my 1850 Census CD, I see a Washington West in Lorain Co., OH. (Pittsfield Twp., page 275), and a Charles B. Benham in Huron Co., OH. (Norwich Twp., page 104). Have you looked at these people? Assuming that Charles' son Charles Andrew Bonham and his wife Emaline West named their first born after her father (?), I checked for a Washington West and found one in Lorain Co., OH and knowing how the census takers tried to fool us, I checked a commonly mis-spelled version of BONHAM, which is Benham and found that Charles B. Benham in the next county over - Huron Co., OH. Your Charles and my Zedekiah may have traveled "west" together....my ancestor moving to Jackson Co., MI and yours to northern OH (?)....just a thought.

Hope this helps some,
Janice
