Dear Clarence and Paula,

Through the kindness of another of our Bonham kin I have been given what Hazie wrote about Tennessee Bonham....which still leaves holes but also gives us more clues. Hazie did not know where Tennessee was born but he has him dying in Shelby Co, IL in 1861. There is a pocket of Bonhams in Shelby, Crawford and Moultrie counties I have been researching to no avail yet, but this helps. Hazie also believes that "possibly Tennessee's true name was Nelson." He also says that "I have reason to believe that he was son son of William Bonham who was a son of Malachi Bonham of St. Clair Co., IL in the 1820 census." We already know that Malachiah was a son of Absalom, son of Malachiah, son of Hezekiah , son of Nicholas, son of George, who we all believe to be our immigrant ancestor. Hazie gets right down to mentioning you and your father, etc, by name, Clarence, and he mentions my mother by name, although it is misspelled. I thought you and other researchers would like to know what Hazie has to say about our elusive Tennessee Bonham.

Larry
