Benjamin Ruggles Bonham (shown also as Bonum)apparently had a sister that was born in 1828 in Lewis County Kentucky, named Minerva (Minnie). She is listed in the 1850 Census as the only Bonum in the county at that time, living as a 18 year old boarder on a farm.

Benjamin Ruggles Bonum is shown in Jefferson, Scioto County Ohio the same census, living with his new wife Lear (Leah?) on the farm of her older brother Absolem Shelpman.

The marriage record shows a marriage date of 10 January 1850 with both names having spelling variations. (Her surname is misspelled)

Add Bonum to your searches and the parents might be found. Probably in Virginia, or North Carolina after 1800.
