jUST GOT THIS POSTING HERE IS MY LETTER FORM THEM 24 October 2007 Hello Ms Adams: We are delighted to learn of your interest in the Mayflower Society. We have received your Preliminary Review Form and have attempted to determine a best approved lineage paper that we might have which follows your stated lineage. Unfortunately, the Mayflower Society does not accept that Hezekiah Bonham, and wife Mary Dunn (not Bishop), had a son Hezekiah. The family of this couple is documented in our Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, Vol 4: Edward Fuller "Silver book" as it really an Edward Fuller line since, while his son Samuel was indeed on the Mayflower, Mayflower lineages begin with the parent, not a child; even if they were on the Mayflower. Thus, there are no lineages for Priscilla Mullins or Mary Allerton, John Cooke etc., also children on the Mayflower, but only as they come through the parents. You will find in MF 4 that the only children that the Mayflower Society accepts for Hezekiah and Mary (Dunn) Bonham are Mary, Samuel, Hannah and Sarah. I believe the problem began as there is evidently a possiblity that Hezekiah Bonham had a second wife named Sarah, who was named in "Bonham & Related Family lines" as Sarah Bishop, the daughter of David and Mary (Alger) Bishop; thus the Bishop. But there is no proof of this. there is an interesting note in MF 4 about the discover of the gravestone of this Sarah Bonham as part of the foundation of a house once owned by Quakers in Princeton NJ. But, unfortunately, as I say, the Mayflower Society does not accept a lineage through a son of Hezekian and Mary, Hezekiah Bonham who married Martha Runyon.
