Hi Clare and Via. Clare you and I are cousins as we both share the same great grandfather, Simeon Bonham. I just sent you a copy of an E-mail message I sent to your uncle, Clarence Bonham, Jr.. Let's keep in touch. We are on the same frustrating trail of Simeon. If anyone else reads this, our problem is that all death records of Simeon Bonham and his wife Margaret Hunter were destroyed in a West Plains, MO courhouse fire and tracing Simeon is proving to be one dead end after another. We need some serious assistance to solve this one! Anyway, keep in touch Clare. I'll let you know if I find any new infromation. And Via, it sounds like you have solid Bonham family knowledge. I've followed the Bonham line from England to Warfrod Bonham, Jr. in Crawford Co, IL. My guess was that Warford was either the father or grandfather of Simeon, but I still cannot make the link. The "Tennessee" that Clare refers to has thrown a wrinkle into my nice clean line from Enlgland, through MA, NJ, PA, OH and IL......I"m having trouble fitting TN into that line...which could mean that I'm trying to follow the wrong leg. Perhaps Simeon came from the Grayson Co, VA leg??? If so, how did he manage to be born in IL, which according to MO census records is where he was born.....and his wife Margaret Hunter was born in IN.
