Bonesteel Family Genealogy Forum

I'm trying to find a connection from my Grandfather, Lee Roy Bonesteele, who was born in 1882 somewhere in Kansas, with his father/mother and the family ties remaining in Kansas and farther back. He moved to California sometime in the late 1800's, had a step-father named Mark Rose, and homesteaded a farm in the Imperial Valley area of Southern California in the early 1900's (with the construction of the All American Canal). I don't know if our family surname has always had a 'e' on the end or was modified from 'Bonesteel' at some point between Kansas and California. Thanks for any help.
