My g-g-grandfather, Jacob Bonesteel was born in Brunswick, NY on 11 Feb 1804. His father Peter was born about 1770, also in Brunswick. His siblings were: Friedrich, Anna, David, Henry, George, and Ludwig, b. 19 Feb. 1760 and died on 14 Nov. 1841 in Grafton, Rensselaer Co. NY. Peter's father, Johan Friederich Bonesteel was one of Niclaus Bonesteel's(Bohnenstiehl) sons, born on 5 Mar. 1732 in Rhinebeck, Duchess Co. NY.

If you have a number of Bonesteels in your family tree, then we are distantly related, as the name Bonesteel was created when Niclaus Bohnenstiehl changed the name to Bonesteel shortly after his arrival in the colony of NY in 1710.

Maybe some of the above names are part of your family tree.

Robert Bonesteel, Incline Village, NV
