My ancestry includes a Boughner,a Holland name pronounced Bok-nair. Since it didn't pronounce the way it was spelled, it has been shortened to Bonner, Bough and possibly Boner. WE pronounce it like Boner but have kept the originally spelling. The cemetary at Iuka, Kansas has many Boughner's. Hope this helps, Happy hunting.
