Researching BONE family of Scotland, Ellicot's Mills, Howard Co., MD, and Petersburg and Hampton, VA. The family made brief stops in NY, VT, and MA, but did not stay long. Looking for ancestors and more descendants.
Hugh BONE, b. ~1760, probably in Ayr, Scotland, married June 23, 1788 in
Straiton, Ayr, Scotland, Christina KERR, who was born 2 Mar 1763 in Glasgow,
Lanark, Scotland, the daughter of John KEIR and Isabel NEIL. Their children
were:
Eliza BONE, b. 10 Jan 1798 in Rutherglen, Lanark, Scotland
Jane BONE, b. 1799 in Rutherglan, Lanark, Scotland
Hugh BONE, b. 14 Aug 1803 in Barony, Lanark, Scotland
Hugh BONE married 7 Jun 1823 in Houston and Kilellan, Renfrew, Scotland, Helen
LINDSAY, who was born 11 May 1800 in Eastwood, Renfrew, Scotland, the daughter
of William LINDSAY and Helen LOCKIE. Hugh and Helen (Ellen) BONE lived in
Scotland (until at least 1827), New York (by 1835), Vermont (in 1838),
Massachusetts (in 1841), Ellicott's Mills, Howard Dist., Anne Arrundal Co., MD
(by 1845), which became Howard Co., MD by 1860. Helen's mother, Margaret
Lindsay was living with them in 1860.
