Joseph L. Washburn "Watt" Bone was my great great grandfather. I will give you all the information I have. The info was researched by a 3rd or 4th cousin and was passed out to us at a family reunion several years ago. I have yet to verify all this information but believe it to be correct as he obtained the information from living relatives. Watt was born Nov. 13, 1826 in Indiana and died on Dec. 23, 1895 in Miller Grove, Hopkins County, TX. He married Sarah Jane Willis on April 17, 1853. She was born May 19, 1834 in Tennessee and died Dec. 5, 1889.
Family records indicate she is buried in the Proctor-Bone Family Cemetary. Based on that fact, I feel it is safe to assume she either died in Hopkins or Rains County as the Bone families lived in both counties. I have information only on 5 children and have never heard of any other children. They are as follows: (1) Louise Jane "Lou" Bone, born July 7, 1854, died Nov. 10, 1911 in Miller Grove, TX, married to a W. W. "Mike" Ferguson; (2) Minerva Ann Bone, born April 18, 1855, married to a Joe Daly; (3) James W. "Jim" Bone, born Jan. 19, 1857, died Mar. 1929; (4) Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bone, born Sept. 26, 1861, died Dec. 14, 1889, buried in Pippin-Hill Cemetary (another family cemetary with both Pippins and Hills having married into the Bone family) in the County Line Community on the border of Rains and Hopkins Counties, south of Miller Grove, TX., married to Benjamin Franklin "Uncle Frank" Pippin on Oct. 31, 1879 in Hopkins Co., TX., (5) and finally my great grandfather, Thomas Willis Bone, born Dec. 15, 1865, died June 20, 1941, married Emma Levada/Lavada (not sure of exact spelling)"Lou" McGowan Sept. 27, 1890. I have further information on Watt's descendents. However, I do not have a complete listing of all of us as of yet. I am currently working on updating this information and it appears it will be more time consuming than originally thought. It is hard to contact everyone. Hope this will help you. Happy hunting, digging up those Bones!
