Willis J. Bone, SC?>GA, 1823-1865

Seeking any info whatsoever on Willis Jackson Bone, b. 20 Mar 1823, SC; d. 21 Apr 1865, Irwin Co., GA; m. 1843, Sarah "Sally" (Decker?). Children were: William Marion (c1844-c1860); Zachary Taylor (1848-1909); Mary Elizabeth (1851-1930); and Alonzo (c1857-?).

Willis had a brother named James Washington Bone (1825-1907) who lived in Randolph Co., GA, and their father was possibly named William Bone, but I have no other info on him.

Also looking for further info on Willis' wife. Family tradition says that Willis worked as a farmhand on Sally's parents' farm in SC "just across the river from Augusta, GA." Willis and Sally eloped and settled in GA, and because her parents disapproved of the marriage, she lost contact with them. Later descendants say that her maiden name was Decker, but there's no documentation to support this, and I can't find any record of a Decker family living across from Augusta during the time period in question (early 1840s). After Willis was hanged for murder in Irwin Co., GA in 1865, Sally moved to Taylor Co., GA, where she married Willis Whatley.

Does anyone out there recognize Willis Bone or Sally Decker? Was Willis' father really William Bone? Where in SC did the family come from? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.
